"JAMBO" Austen, Landon & Santa Clarita Christian School !!!

"Jambo" means hello in Swahili.  Since I'm sending this message from Bomet, Kenya I thought that would be a great way to greet my neice and nephew Austen and Landon Hermanson who just posted on my blog!

I also want to thank Mrs. Bolde's 1st grade class and Miss Walter's 4th grade class for following along on my blog and praying for our medical team and for our patients here in Kenya.  Our whole medical team appreciates your prayers as work here in Kenya.

Austen and Landon's classes are also collecting shoe boxes for "Operation Christmas Child" sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.  That is such a great thing to do for the children who will receive them.  Some of our patients don't even have shoes to wear and live in houses made out of mud.  They don't have electricity or running water.  They light their houses with candles and kerosene lamps and have to walk for miles to get water to drink or bathe in.  Anything you could give to these children would be appreciated so much because they have so little.  Maybe some of your gifts will be given to some of our patients here at Tenwek Hospital!

Samaritan's Purse is sponsoring our 2 cardiac weeks at Tenwek Hospital this month through World Medical Missions, the medical arm of Samaritans Purse.  So all of the children at Santa Clarita Christian School in Santa Clarita, California are working together with all of the medical staff from Vanderbilt University (in Tennessee) and Brown University (in Rhode Island) and all the other places our team comes from (San Diego, Jackson, Mississippi etc) to help the patients and families here at Tenwek Hospital.

THANK YOU SANTA CLARITA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL!! for supporting our medical missions trip at Tenwek Hospital and for participating in Operation Christmas Child!!

This picture was taken just a few minutes ago in our ICU at Tenwek Hospital and all the ICU nurses and doctors are waving "JAMBO" to all of you in Santa Clarita Christian School.  Thanks for your support!
