Our packing party was scheduled for Sunday, October 23rd. The perfusion supplies that had been donated from around the country that we needed to bring with us have been in my office at Vanderbilt in boxes since we returned from our last trip to Tenwek a year and a half ago...
Of course I waited until the night before the packing party to bring all the supplies home and unpack them... of course I was amazed at how many supplies there actually were... and of course they all had to be logged into the supply database before they could be packed for the trip. Of course...
By midnight everything was logged in the computer, packed up and ready to be taken to Andy's for the packing party the next day.
Later the next day... Rebekah and Kristen (PCICU nurses) and Dr. Tom (Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist) are packing away at Dr. Andy's.
Dr. Andy (Pediatric Critical Care Physician), Rebecah and Whitney.

In about 2.5 hours we successfully stuffed all the supplies and medications into the 2 suitcases each that we are allowed to bring on the Delta/KLM flight that will take us from Nashville to Atlanta to Amsterdam to Nairobi and eventually to Tenwek Hospital on November 6th, 2011.
The "proud packers" are:
Front Row Left to Right: Anna, Kristen, Kari and Kristen (PCICU nurses)
Back Row Left to Right: Dr. Andy (and son), Rebecah (PCICU nurse), Dr. Tom, Leah (PCICU nurse), "me" and Whitney (PCICU nurse).
